funny ways some people interpret scriptures.

Well if Matthew 18 is about resolving sin issues in a church, Jesus uses the same reference earlier in Matthew 16. The binding and loosing is about resolving sin issues in Matthew 18. Why would Jesus have it as this in Matthew 18? The earlier ref must be about the same thing.

Oh I meant to say compare Matthew 16:19 with 18:18.. and that is where its all about resolving sin issues:)

funny ways some people interpret scriptures.

Context again.. like Mathew 18:20.. it is about resolving sin issues. Christians dealing with sin issues in their church. So the keys become entrance to the local church (I say local, but it always is).. A church is inside the Kingdom on earth. A wayward church member could be kicked from...

funny ways some people interpret scriptures.

Yes He is.. but also think about the other role He has as the Comforter, 'in the midst' of the local church assembly.

funny ways some people interpret scriptures.

Classic one for me: Matthew 18:20.. people will interpret as Jesus being 'in the midst' of 2 or 3 christians gathered in ANY situation. So for example.. christians gathered at a concert-- not church.. not people they know.. just a concert.. and will go 'yeeeah! Where two or three are...

Is There Grace in Having Hope?

I can't see into the man's heart, only God can. In saying this, the moment someone does place their faith in Christ, He does save them and give eternal life. So people who were sincere with Christ and placed their faith in Him, could later become confused and caught up in thorns and...

THE HOLY SPIRIT, IS HE REAL IN YOUR LIFE?

He bought people into my life who were Godly men grounded in scripture. They taught me how to run a Bible study, and share my faith and i learned of eternal security and assurance of salvation. The Holy Spirit gave me comfort and assurance, I experienced deep peace and quit biting my nails...

THE HOLY SPIRIT, IS HE REAL IN YOUR LIFE?

Holy Spirit is God, co-equal and co-eternal with the Father and Son. See John 1:1 He seals a believer at the moment of eternal salvation, convicting them of sin before hand. See Ephesians 2 He empowers the believer to serve Him and rebuked and admonishes them when they sin. He stays with a...

THE HOLY SPIRIT, IS HE REAL IN YOUR LIFE?

The Holy Spirit didn't stop working if the sign gifts ceased then. He put away the foundational tools to establish the early churches and the apostles. From then He still heals, still empowers still rebukes, still quickens, is personal, can be grieved, is God. There is no stopping of the...

    Not By Works

The other thing is Matthew 24 of those who endure to the end will be saved.. the salvation in this context isn't eternal salvation.. but save as in deliverance from trails and troubles rather than deliverance of sin in receiving eternal life.

    Church Discipline

We would follow the Matthew 18 process of discipline for any persistent sin and the ones mentioned. Although this isn't easy, and there is 6 of us. .with 3 adults.

    Ephesians 4:11-16

It says that the Corinthians are to prophesy and desire the higher gifts. Preceding that is a look to the future when the gifts will cease. So the application may be about us today.. but only if there is nothing to show the apostles sign gifts weren't foundational and completed their...

    HOW Were people SAVED...

The sacrifice is a picture of the Messiah. I would think the person was saved eternally aside from the act of animal sacrifice. But their sacrifice would be counted as the right way of serving God in the OT

    HOW Were people SAVED...

We HAVE to be saved by grace because there is nothing inheritenly good in people. That is the whole crux of the matter. But the other main things are to do with being saved eternally and then daily deliverance. Context determines which kind is being shown in the Bible. Peace

    HOW Were people SAVED...

Old Testament saints.. were looking to the Messiah for salvation.. but their way of service to God was different. The way of salvation though was being made righteous by God , not by works of righteousness. Abraham was declared righteous before offering up his son Isaac. David believed in...

    Ephesians 4:11-16

In regards to the two witnesses, I'm still looking in to that. My first impressions are that rather than operating in the gifts of the Spirit, God is empowering them in His will as He can. In regards to dispensationalism.. my impression of this is that with the likes or Scofield, they have...

    Ephesians 4:11-16

Perfect in the bible's context is mostly referring to completion and maturity, rather than sinlessness or perfection in terms of unblemished. The understanding isn't perfect understanding on the part of the believer.. but access to the perfect Word of God.. complete and mature. The knowledge...

    Ephesians 4:11-16

Okay so yes... the disciples were drawing on the Old Testament.. the new was not yet written. But.... you have completed books for the New Testament churches to adhere to from the likes of Paul, Titus, Timothy.. before AD 100.
