I am pretty sure Aaron loved God, and in his heart, intended the golden calf for true worship..

Again, not a good idea.
We are suppose to learn from this, in my opinion.

How is that any different to tag christian events upon a non-christian tradition of paganism? That is perversion. It is perverse. I don't believe I have a perverse understanding of good at all. I gave examples(Not beliefs that should be accused as perverse on my behalf :P ) that are no different than twisting of paganism into Judaeo beliefs. The only difference is I used examples that would never be excepted into Christianity which is still no different than other evil practices that seems 'LESS OF' a 'COMPROMISE' to the Christian faith. We celebrate the blood and flesh in the breaking of bread so why would we not use those examples I gave? Because they are down right evil. The pagan holiday seems less evil but it was still formed within the worldly satanic influence outside of the Kingdom of Light. There are places in the World where forms of Catholicism traditional-ize the suffering of the cross by allowing real human beings to be crucified (not to death) but on the cross hanging with real nails. Why isn't this a good practice for us? Well we just know its evil.

With the growth of our Knowledge of the Lord in our day compared to the days that Christmas was created would be a much different outcome. With the rise of moments that Christians protest of simple things like, not buying a Ford, not shopping at Target or Starbucks, just simple because their involvement in Homosexual approval, do you think that a world that is today that never had Christmas would suddenly accept an active pagan holiday to be used as a celebration of Christ birth. Absolutely not and anyone who says otherwise isn't being open or understanding to the truth.

Just say today, in our time, Christmas was never created, never heard of, and never celebrated. AT the exact same time the pagan holidays and rituals that were once then and converted to Christmas were still going on today. Just say that paganism is well known by Christians as of a whole. We shun the business that seems to be in-darkened by evil practices and we shun New Age practices. We detest witchcraft. We abhor abortion. What would we think of those pagan holidays being practiced today? Well, we'd warn each other in concern for one another to not participate within those factions evil. I can say with certainty that if Obama would get on CNN tonight and declare that we use those practices and traditions to be a Christian holiday to celebrate a birth of a Savior that in the last 2000 years (just in this example) was never celebrated with a holiday, NONE, No real Christian in today's society would accept this decree from our current president. That is just truth. So today or in the past, how is different? Christians would be forming lines at White House to protest this new Presidential decree. We'd be signing petitions and writing letters to our congressmen. Our pulpits would be full of the topic and pastors would be warning their congregations of befriending worldly traditions. The only difference is that there was a huge lack of Knowledge and fullness of the Spirit in those days and that Christmas was decreed by the highest of authorities to be practiced. It was dictated by government and forced into the lives of, for the most part, ignorant Christians. As a result we've all just grown up loving it and enjoying it and pre-accepted in our lives through passed down commercialized tradition. Today, with our religious freedoms and our powerful growth in Love and Knowledge of the Lord, Christmas as a brand new practice would most assuredly be shunned by the majority of Christians today to be a brand new Holiday for us to practice.

I am sure all of us could share special memories about Dec25.
including me.

still doesn't make it right.
Again, Aaron made a golden calf and proclaimed a feast in honor of YHVH.
The results were ugly.

That was a little different, wasn't it?

They were worshipping the calf as if it were God.

No one worships the christmas tree as if it were Christ. Or worships Dec 25th in place of Christ Himself.

There are educated men standing before congregations who know the truth about the Dec25 ritual.

Why don't they speak up$$?

if you disagree, ask a child what they think about Christmas and watch their little eye$ light up.

But it is NOT pagan to decorate a tree, or give worship to God on Christmas. And it's not pagan to go trick or treating on Halloween. It's not pagan to over-eat on Thanksgiving. ALL of those days can be used to give thanks to God.

Aaron compromised in that situation because he feared the people. The calf completely replaced God. That was idolatry. Aaron knew that what he did was wrong

It is evil for you because you make it evil. I can guarantee you the the way we spend Christmas doesn't even look remotely close to how the pagans did. Spend a little time researching what pagans actually did and then come back and say we are partaking in an evil ritual

that is what you say.
and I know you are being sincere.
but that is not what God says.

I have asked my son this and every time he says Jesus first. It is about how we raise our children. Yes he enjoys his gifts but he fully understand this day is about Jesus not about what he gets.

Aaron compromised in that situation because he feared the people. The calf completely replaced God. That was idolatry. Aaron knew that what he did was wrong

Aaron called the calf YHVH, and said this is the God that brought us out of Egypt, pointing to the Christmas tree, uh, I mean the golden calf.

I totally disagree with that last sentence. Young children don't even know exactly what Christmas is all about, except that they get presents. Nor do young kids know what worshipping something means. Even adults get excited about Christmas. Not necessarily so they can decorate a tree or get and give presents. That may be the day that they go to church, come home, and sing worship songs and pray all day and praise God. I believe even pagan holidays can be used to glorify God.. jmo

Great point Grandpa! It's wonderful when someone comes in and clears out the smoke screen that is trying to be put up to take Christ out of things.

I am not talking about children.

I am talking about Christians.

Aaron called the calf YHVH, and said this is the God that brought us out of Egypt, pointing to the Christmas tree, uh, I mean the golden calf.

Lol now you are stretching it. I can guarantee you most, sane, Christians aren't going to look at a Christmas tree and say this is my God. You really should quit while you are behind because you have never been ahead in this conversation.

Aaron called the calf YHVH, and said this is the God that brought us out of Egypt, pointing to the Christmas tree, uh, I mean the golden calf.

Exactly my point.

No one does that with Christmas.

No one says this is the tree that saved you. Or this is the present that represents your salvation.

Aaron called the calf YHVH, and said this is the God that brought us out of Egypt, pointing to the Christmas tree, uh, I mean the golden calf.

Exactly. Aaron made a golden calf and declared it to be the God that brought them out of Egypt. There is no way he didn't know better. I'm pretty sure he did this to appease the restless people. They needed to see and worship something tangible and grew impatient waiting for Moses
I think Aaron feared for his life and gave them what they wanted. Aaron was Moses' side kick and speaker during the exodus. No way he was that clued out

Well I for one intend to celebrate Christmas this year as much as I possibly can.

The decorations, food, presents, queens speech, carol sevice, all that slaving over a hot stove
and I will do it with a heart full of gratitude for everything God has done for both me and
my elderly aunt who I look after. So mike you can keep all of your legalistic
ingratitude and put it where the sun don't shine.

Im weeping as I am typing this, why?

Well because last year my aunt nearly lost her life, she was admitted to hospital
mid October with kidney failure, lungs filling up with fluid, potassium levels so
high the doctor said he had never seen a living person with levels so high,
severe breathing difficulties. Scans also revealed two small strokes. Her body
bloated up as her heart could not get rid of the fluid in her body. Her heart beat
was all over the place.

I was told to go home, keep my phone on and the hospital would call me to let
me know when her heart stopped. Only it didn't!
But even then they pulled me to one side and three times asked for permission to put
do not resuscitate on her records. I kept refusing as I felt God had other plans but the
staff put DNR on her records any way. However I was right God did have other plans!

It took 12 weeks of medical attention and recovery to get her home first week in
January.

For me Christmas last year was a mix of the most awful Christmas ever but also one
of relief she was still alive.

We have no buses on Christmas Day, I managed to get a lift to see her, weighed
down with presents from friends and family. Christmas dinner for me was a bowl of
soup warmed up in the staff microwave, while watching my aunt tuck into the
"stuff" described as Christmas dinner the hospital served up.

Then a few hours later when she got overtired, I walked the 2.5 miles home in
the pouring rain taking her presents home - at least the ones not usable at hospital.

I spent Christmas Eve at home on my own thanking God for saving her life while
eating beans on toast.

The rest of that Christmas week and the New Year was along the same lines only
I spent the time at home cleaning up and making preparation for my aunt coming home.

So I make no apology whatsoever for saying that we intend to pull out all the stops this
year age make it as memorable as possible.

She still has various medical problems and i don't know how long she has, could be months or
years. But what is a important is that this year we will celebrate Christmas properly together,
and I intend to make this Christmas and any subsequent christmas's as good as possible.

But to anyone who would rather stick to their legalistic false values, I pity you as you
are missing out on the whole reason for the season, to celebrate the birth of Christ
together with family and friends and to share in the goodness and love we have in
Jesus.

By the way here is the testimony of the amazing gift of life God gave my aunt last
year when doctors told us there was no hope. This Christmas I have two
amazing gifts of life to celebrate.

Well, Umm, ::::cough:::: I was referring to the statement not the look lol

Haha I have a self deprecating sense of humor. I figure I'd rather make fun of myself then have someone else do it for me.

Well I can tell by your picture you don't look like Ackbar. You are somewhat more fluffy with fur and have a very sharp grin. Your ears are a bit pointier than his as well.
