Living a life with Christ in our hearts is NOT a supplement. It is basic scripture.
I never said that living a life with Christ in our hearts was a supplement. Supplements are works that people "add" to Christ's finished work of redemption in order to help Christ save them.

That we are not saved by works is basic, and accepted by all Christians--otherwise they would not be a Christian. Yet not saved by works is central to your posts. Why?
Not saved by works (Romans 4:5-6; Ephesians 2:8,9; Titus 3:5; 2 Timothy 1:9 etc..) is central to my posts, especially when I'm dealing with people who teach otherwise. There are genuine Christians and there are "nominal" Christians.

There is a huge difference to correct in love and expose false teachings. Opinions vary, a Messianic follows certain Jewish celebrations and instructions, however, that does not mean they are living according to the LAW for salvation. I personally enjoyed a wonderful time in Israel celebrating Shabbat... it is a beautiful weekly time of enjoying family and what God did for His people. I have looked at why God gave certain instructions and it was always for a good reason... but I do not rely on those things for salvation. They are ways of going deeper into the heart and thoughts of God....

we need to be very cautious and sure when we ”expose false teachings”, take time to listen to the person’s heart and reasons and MOST IMPORTANTLY get on your knees and allow the Holy Spirit to teach,,,, it may just be that we are the ones needing to learn something to grow in truth and become moreChrist-like.

what would an unbeliever think if he came to check this platform out.... it is God’s wish that NOONE PERISH.

Lev 10:10 And that ye may put difference between holy and unholy, and between unclean and clean;

Hebrews 10:29 Of how much sorer punishment, suppose ye, shall he be thought worthy, who hath trodden under foot the Son of God, and hath counted the blood of the covenant, wherewith he was sanctified, an unholy thing, and hath done despite unto the Spirit of grace?

Difference in opinion does not need to lead to running people down. We all seeking truth and should be continually doing that and try love each other in that process of uniqueness. If one does not like something, get on your knees and pray and HEAR from God what to do For the other person and maybe for oneself too. Iron sharpens iron...- that’s what fellowship should be. Just maybe God is trying to change something in us, when we have different viewpoints. We should speak from a place of Spirit, to encourage, uplift and spur each other on To godliness.
I agree that all discussion or debate should remain civil and respectful but please keep in mind that no one here is perfect. Each one of us is at a certain level of spiritual awareness and maturity. The members are real people living in a hard secular world. Most of us are doing the best that we can with what God has provided. There are good days and bad days an at times this shows in the posts and threads.

Mostly, for myself, I come here for the Christian fellowship and the opportunity to know who the members are and what they are about. Even though I am married I spend a great deal of my time on this site in the Singles forum because of the more laid back relaxing atmosphere. Perhaps you could check out this forum as well. The BDF aka Bible Discussion Forum can be a heated hostile place at times..

Please don't let the conduct of a few members spoil things for you but rather, remain true to yourself and, by the grace of God, make a positive difference in the lives of the members who frequent these pages.

We are only human after all.

Hi
Its not about looking to the law for salvation, but to look deeper into the HEART of God. Big difference, the law cannot save us.
Right, and the Sabbath is not Sunday, nor any other day. It's our rest in Christs perfect work that we are to keep.

Again, it is not about finding salvation in the law, Christ finished that work for us...... I lived in Israel a short time and it was truly a blessing to have certain viewpoints of mine challenged. Remember the Jews (not saved) used the law to try be saved, so to speak. That I do not agree with, as we have Christ/Messiah who bought us at a price by shedding his blood for us on the cross and removing ALL efforts of the law to save a person. I’m just trying to relay that God had a reason for certain things that he instructed, they were to just help us on our walk with him, if we wanted to seek him in those directions. Not everybody goes the same way. I am open to the Messianic way of worshipping, although I will always remember not to strive for the law does not save. Anyway, I see we all on unique viewpoints and that is good, as it encourages us to love each other in our differences.
Romans 14:4-6 KJV
[4] Who art thou that judgest another man's servant? to his own master he standeth or falleth. Yea, he shall be holden up: for God is able to make him stand. [5] One man esteemeth one day above another: another esteemeth every day alike. Let every man be fully persuaded in his own mind. [6] He that regardeth the day, regardeth it unto the Lord; and he that regardeth not the day, to the Lord he doth not regard it. He that eateth, eateth to the Lord, for he giveth God thanks; and he that eateth not, to the Lord he eateth not, and giveth God thanks.

crossnote,

What is your purpose for referencing the Romans' passage?

Does the covenant of Christ's blood teach you that 6 days are unholy?

6/7 of the your time is unclean?

Then maybe the thing you ought to do is live 7 days a week in one eternal day, Bud.

Im in no way condemning people if they not taking part in the festivals. And I’m not saying we must celebrate Christ’s with feastsby going back to the LAW.
what I’m saying is there is deeper understanding to the HEART of God as we seek Him and find Him. I have no problem if people choose not to follow feasts, their journey and hearing from God is not for me to challenge. We all walking our own walk.
The Lord lets us make up our mind about the festivals, but the Lord does NOT say that if you celebrate them you are going back to the law for your salvation. That is a lie, and the Lord tells us not to lie.

I am merely stating what I have observed, personally I do not celebrate festivals, however I don’t believe it is wrong if you know the only way for salvation is through the Messiah. With that said, and after living in Israel for a short time, I certainly believe there are ways to go deeper into the heart of God, should one be open to it. I am not forcing anyone to do anything...

It is resolved that the Lord does not judge people based on keeping feasts. What is NOT resolved is whether keeping feasts is "going back to the law". I think it is outright lying to say there is a law telling us to keep feasts and not keeping them or keeping them has anything at all with obedience to law. To say it is, when you know very well that it isn't, is lying, and we are not to lie.

Keeping feasts is celebrating Christ and loving the Lord. Period.

What a silly argument. If you decide that every day is holy, you do it for the Lord. If you decide that you love the Lord so you want to do as the Lord tells you, then work six days as if you were working for the lord and spend one day in rest.

You go on and on and on about works, yet when Christ saves us, when Christ lives in our hearts, works follow. Are there works for Christ as a result of Christ in our hearts, or are all works to be avoided because they won't save us? Make up your mind.

yes, you are right - in fact for my part i did give an intentionally silly argument, because i find Leviticus 10:29 + Hebrews 10:29 to be a very silly argument that Bud gave for his SDA position.

;)

speaking of silly..

If you decide that you love the Lord so you want to do as the Lord tells you, then work six days as if you were working for the lord and spend one day in rest.
can you really sincerely say 'if you love the Lord.." like this if you believe what you said about the one who treats every day as holy, doing so for the Lord?

:)

If only you were not insinuating that the first person is not wanting to do as the Lord tells them or doesn't love the Lord as much, this would have been a really great post... I'm sorry it's so hard for you to believe people who are not in HRM or SDA also love/obey God...

i think we all need to remember that in Acts 15:5 the people who were thought that Moses' law should be imposed on all Christians were still called "believers" -- we shouldn't be treating each other as enemies over this topic, but as family.

and yes i know that brothers and sisters have spats :giggle:

Of course works follow as a result of receiving Christ through faith and becoming born again. Works are not to be avoided because they don’t save us.

Only one day was bless and Sanctified, meaning it was set apart for HOLY USE, And that is the 7th day, our Saturday, all the other 6 days are working days as GOD worked 6 days and rested the 7th day in Creation, And YESUAH MEANS for us to keep the Saveneth day holy like GOD did in Creation, it is a memorial of HIS creation,

Here you go with the "set apart for set apart use" again. It didn't make sense the first time either.

And YESUAH MEANS for us to keep the Saveneth day holy like GOD did in Creation, it is a memorial of HIS creation,
Where is that in Scripture?
