Hey Everyone,

This thread is written in dedication to, and with the gracious permission of, our longtime friend, @tourist.

* Please tell us something about your day. It can be anything. What you had for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. It could be a random thought you just wanted to share with someone. It could be about what you wore today and why. Maybe you'd like to share a Bible passage. Maybe you just have a random, silly thought. Maybe you have a prayer request, or someone you're praying/concerned about. Tell us about it, and maybe we can help.

Whatever you say may or may not connect with any other post here. It can be completely at random or you could be answering someone else's post here -- most anything is game.

* The only rule is that whatever is said, please let it be to brighten someone else's day -- even if it's just to let others know that other people are actually here. Post a joke, meme, picture, emoji -- whatever comes to mind to encourage someone else.

Many years ago, we had an infamous thread called "Streams of Consciousness and Thought." It was a thread of regular people sharing their every day life and thoughts, but that thread continued for many, many years. It made people feel like others were out there, living out life just as they were -- and for some people, it helped them feel a little less alone.

Our friend Tourist is going through an immensely hard time.

This is a chance for The Singles Forum to really put the pedal to the mettle; to show our strength in numbers; and an opportunity to show care and comfort for one of our very own.

Please help our dear brother Tourist by telling him a little bit about your day -- and please keep coming back to do so.

* The Bible tells us, "Carry one another's burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ." -- Galations 6:2

Something God has taught me is that He got me through the toughest times of my life -- day by day. But getting through each day always felt like the hardest part.

One thing that helped me, and something I believe Tourist enjoys as well, is reading what people are up to, no matter how mundane. It helps make it feel like life hasn't completely stopped, and reminds us that we are still part of something that keeps moving forward. Seeing other people in motion, even if it's just baby steps, helps a heavy heart from feeling too stagnant to move.

A glimpse into someone else's life gives you a much-needed rest from your own, if only for an instant (just enough to refresh and keep moving.)

Even if all you have to say is that you had a turkey sandwich, that's still something. Give us a mini-food review in the process. Did you make it yourself? If not, where did you get it?

The point isn't to say something devastatingly interesting -- the point is to get through your day, even if you feel discouraged -- and to use whatever you're doing to gently encourage others who are hurting through their day, too.

As a matter of fact, sometimes mundane posts can be the very best -- because they're normal, and people need to know that others are out living normal life -- not filtered social media highlights.

All are welcome to post -- single or married, it doesn't matter.

In fact, this might work out even better with all the more people who do post -- and hopefully, keep coming back, day after day, to say something to take the burden off others, no matter how seemingly ordinary.

Thank you, and may God bless you for helping to carry the burdens of others. 💖🙏🏼💐

(The next post will tell more about Tourist's story -- thank you for your kind consideration.)

Many regulars here have known Tourist for a long time.

He came to CC many years ago, and has always spoken with us honestly. He told us about the struggles he had that we could all relate to regarding single life.

Some time later, he met a wonderful woman of God right here (JesusLives,) and thus began their love story.

I remember seeing them flirt all over the forum, and at the time, I was a bit envious that I wasn't finding anyone myself. God convicted me and I eventually wrote to JesusLives, confessing my resentment and asking her to forgive me. She didn't even hesitate to give me the equivalent of a big warm hug and and an immediate, "Of course I forgive you!!" She then proceeded to tell me all the times she'd felt the exact same way, like seeing a woman at work receive flowers when she was still single.

I'll never forget her kindness.

And even when Tourist and JesusLives got married, they didn't forget us here in Singles. They still made appearances, telling us about their life together with their cats, Sugar and Tango. They still encouraged those us who were still single, but let us be individuals, all on different paths. They joked and bantered with us, never making us feel pressured or treated us as if we were of lesser value because we were single.

But now the time has come that no one ever wants to talk about.

Singles are often very strongly told to marry, and get all kinds of lectures about being too "flakey" and "unable to commit" to God's holy command: "'Til death do us us part."

* But what happens when a couple actually does decide to take God up on that -- and God finally comes to collect on His Words?

* Why is there never much talk about the fact that God will eventually call half the married -- to once again be single?

For reasons only God knows, He has called JesusLives home. Tourist has fulfilled every leg of the race in his commitment to her with flying colors, and then some.

And seeing as their entire story has been on CC, I am greatly hoping that we on CC can also help Tourist through his great time of need.

* Please, stop on by to share something about your day, and if possible, something encouraging to lift Tourist's spirit.

* Please help us as we share our dear brother's burden, guard him in prayer, and help lift him up -- day by day.

* So tell us... What was YOUR day like? What have you been thinking lately? Did your kids, pets, neighbors, co-workers do anything amusing today, or lately?

Please keep coming back -- and tell us about whatever days you can. 💖🙏🏼💐

May God bless you.

I'm seeing someone!

Actually, just my physio. He reckons I have frozen shoulder, so he has to look at it and teaches me exercises.

The physio practice is behind the McDonalds so I'm always walking through the drive-thru to get to it, as the parking is taken up by all the people going to eat at mcDonalds (and not exercising). I also have to walk past Subway but it's never as busy as McDonalds.

Don't worry I am sure the physio sees a lot of other people not just me. We are not dating. We just have lots of appointments. It's one on one. So it's kind of like dating. Well not really. I have no idea if he's single or not.

Today had a bible lesson about friendship. The story was about Jesus calling the 12 disciples (which he eventually called his friends) Honestly I can only recall 7 straight off the bat and the children couldn't name 12 either (the most they got was 7) . But he probably didn't always have all 12 around him all the time all at once.

oh thank you Seoul for making this thread. We all want Tourist to know he's a dear friend to us especially at this sad time.

My day yesterday was so painful. I was thinking a lot about my friend who is gone to be with Jesus last year November. We were very good good friends. I cried and look to his pictures and listen to our conversations. When evening comes me and a few friends decided to pray for an hour every night at seven 🕖. While praying I become very emotional, I kept on praying and in the middle of prayers I kept quiet. I became very burdened to those on the earth that never hear the gospel and those that heard the gospel but live on as if life is forever, those who are Lukewarm, than a verse came to mind and I share it with the ladies.

Psalm 32:8
Instruct me Lord and lead me in the way I should go, guide me with your eye. Another verse came up

Proverbs 3:5-6
Trust in the Lord with all your heart, lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him and He shall direct your path. This is what I would like to share today. May you be blessed.

Here's something to brighten up your day. Someone is making a video game about a secret spy agent... dog.

(To my friends in chat: Sorry about the double post but I didn't know about this thread until after I posted in chat.)

It stormed last night so I was up late to comfort pup (who is pretty stressed by storms). And I think in order to use up stuff in the freezer next week my typucal breakfast of sausage egg and cheese sandwiches will be replacec by bacon eggs and toast. That will let me use up the bacon and the loaf of homemade bread that's been in the freezer since spring.

I have a few dear friends on CC too. Yes, I am going through a dark period of my life, but I do appreciate the prayers, support, and encouragement that I have received. Very comforting.

I agree with you wholeheartedly about mundane matters. A lot of the conversations my wife and I had were about mundane things. However, sharing such stuff was sort of intimate and romantic. I will miss that part of our married relationship very much.

I am going to pick up my late wife's ashes today at the funeral home. I have paid quite a bit so far but still owe X hundreds of dollars. Nice peeps there. Said I could take my time paying the balance. Wonder what would happen if I didn't pay anymore. Repossessed the ashes? Nah. Gonna pay.

She was born in Muncie, Indiana so when I visit my daughter in Michigan, I will stop by that city and pick a nice quiet colorful spot to scatter her ashes. Once I accomplish that I will be more thoroughly prepared to get on with my life in a positive direction.

It will bring closure to me.

Here's something to brighten up your day. Someone is making a video game about a secret spy agent... dog.

There was a man who lives a life of danger.
To everyone he meets, he stays a stranger.
With every move he makes,
Another chance he takes,
Odds are, he won't live to see tomorrow.
Secret agent man, secret agent man.
They've given you a number,
And taken away your name.

It is always sad when the day comes when you have to put a beloved pet to sleep. That is a drawback to bringing pets into your life. Eventurally, they are going to leave you. Or, you are going to leave them.

As @seoulsearch has mentioned:

Why is there never much talk about the fact that God will eventually call half the married -- to once again be single?

I guess there is a price that has to be paid one day for those who choose to marry. As for myself, I have no regrets. It was well worth the cost of admission.

Lol! Loved the opening line. :D

Man, it's dangerous when a place you go to regularly is right next to a food place you might like. There was a time during some of my jobs that I had way too much McDonald's, and way too much Dunkin' Donuts coffee, all due to proximity!

I really hope the physio gives you some relief and improvement.

And thank you so much for starting off this thread. 🥰
