Later on, however, Judaism had the view, in Ezekiel 18, that the son is not responsible for the sins of the father, and the father is not responsible for the sins of the son. Against the earlier view in Exodus, etc. of God's visiting the iniquity from generation to generation in some semblance of inherited sin if not inherited guilt. If I am not misreading the OT.
