Covenant theology is not about the return of Christ Jesus.

It is the correct and biblical view that all is fulfilled in Christ Jesus.

Covenant theology begins and ends with Christ and all is connected with and to Christ.

The truth is the people of God are defined Christologically not ethnically.... this is repeated over and over again in the NT

The New Testament does not hint at this new reality it actually drives this point right through the heart with a stake of the old covenant boundary markers.

Paul: “Not all who are descended from Israel belong to Israel.”
Ephesians: Christ creates one new man, not two parallel peoples.
Peter: Titles once reserved for Israel now belong to the church.
This is not erasure—it is fulfillment. The olive tree is one, and its life is Christ.
(Pastor Lankford. The Shepherd's Church)

Prior to Scofield and Darby this was the position of many churches in the west and Independent Baptist Churches.

Write some leaflets, go on a speaking tour, accompanied by the new Scofield Commentary, the promise of a fake rapture and there it is, the church is adopting a whole new system.
I am sure WWW III will be great.

Your definition of "Covenant theology" is New Testament/New Covenant only. You haven't read enough of the Bible to understand the Old Covenants and the ones that still remain unfulfilled OR that the Old Testament says that God/Jesus will indeed make YET ANOTHER New Covenant with Israel.

This is why it's a HUGE mistake for churches to only teach the New Testament instead of the Bible in its ENTIRETY like Jesus said in Matthew 4:4 and Luke 4:4. Jesus will fulfill ALL that's been WRITTEN, just like He said. You just need to listen to what he's telling you in Luke 24:44 and read the books of Moses, the prophets and the Psalms to know what He meant by that, but you haven't and you obviously refuse to.

"Covenant theology is not about the return of Christ Jesus."

Correction: covenant theology is about DENYING the Scriptural fact of the return of Christ Jesus.

Having said that, please answer the following questions:

"What is the trigger/precursor event that literally causes the literal Second Coming to the literal earth"?

"Is Christ Jesus coming again bodily to the EARTH where every eye will see Him, in order to reign and rule from His throne in Jerusalem? Yes or no?"

Its hard getting her to admit there is such a thing as the second coming. Its one of those "all fulfilled in AD70" situations. Even though Revelation was written in the 90s

Amen brother. These CT's suffer from vast biblical illiteracy, and you can easily discern this grim phenomenon in every post.
In many cases, it is as if the Biblical record ceases to exist when they post their nonsense.

Someone who doesn't believe in the return of Jesus Christ has already answered those questions.

The way you need to ask it is...

HeIsHere, do you believe what the Bible and God/Jesus says or NOT??!!

Revelation 1:7-8, 18

7 Behold, he cometh with clouds; and every eye shall see him, and they also which pierced him: and all kindreds of the earth shall wail because of him. Even so, Amen.

8 I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, saith the Lord, which is, and which was, and which is to come, the Almighty.

18 I am he that liveth, and was dead; and, behold, I am alive for evermore, Amen; and have the keys of hell and of death.

It is not at all NT only, that is a straw man.

Back to making it about me, because you cannot disprove that Covenant Theology is correct and dispensationalism is eisgesis with a faulty hermeneutic that states it is literal until it is not.

To add to what you said :

The end of the book of Ezekiel, in chapter 48 verse 35 states that, "and the name of the city from that day shall be, The Lord is there."

Which echoes Revelation 21 verse 3, where it states that "God himself shall be with them"

And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God.
Revelation 21:3

Ezekiels Temple and The New Jerusalem in Revelation are the same thing.

God has been dwelling in his people building His kingdom since Pentecost, making us living stones. This New Jerusalem is when all is complete and God dwells with us.

It is not at all NT only, that is a straw man.

Not buying it. Failure to comprehend is one thing, sinister denials with an agenda is quite another.
And despising Israel has no excuse either.

Indwelling of the Holy Spirit reveals truth when it arrives. And it DEFINITLY has arrived on this thread!
What I see is judicial blindness. Bummer for them.....:rolleyes:

1Co 2:12
Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God.
1Co 2:13
Which things also we speak, not in the words which man's wisdom teacheth, but which the Holy Ghost teacheth; comparing spiritual things with spiritual.
1Co 2:14
But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.
I keep hearing the phrase " evil dispensationalist" pulled by some like a gunslinger.

That pop gun tells me they're decieved immediately.

I think you missed one of my prior posts, so I'll copy part of it here in response...

Much of Ezekiel 47 mirrors Revelation 22, but there are some differences I'll mention later.

Revelation 22:1 - And he shewed me a pure river of water of life, clear as crystal, proceeding out of the throne of God and of the Lamb.

This is where I'm going to throw out the idea that the "new heaven and the new earth" are separate until they are combined.

While the Bible shows Mt. Zion on both earth and in heaven (depending on the verse), what if it sits right INBETWEEN the new heaven and the new earth.

What if the water that proceeds out of the throne of God in the new heaven runs down to the new earth and under the temple/house?

What makes Ezekiel different from Revelation is the mention of Sabbath Days and New Moons.

Here's what Ezekiel 46:1 says...

46 Thus saith the Lord God; The gate of the inner court that looketh toward the east shall be shut the six working days; but on the sabbath it shall be opened, and in the day of the new moon it shall be opened.

So, this can't be the New Jerusalem/Heaven because Revelation tells us that there is no need for the sun or the moon AND it says that the gate never shuts because it's never night.

Revelation 21:23-25

23 And the city had no need of the sun, neither of the moon, to shine in it: for the glory of God did lighten it, and the Lamb is the light thereof.

24 And the nations of them which are saved shall walk in the light of it: and the kings of the earth do bring their glory and honour into it.

25 And the gates of it shall not be shut at all by day: for there shall be no night there.

I trying to emphasise the part that says and God himself shall be with them, I see your point about Ezekiel though.

And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God.
Revelation 21:3

My point is that you do not understand the point.

Nor do you understand that the מוֹעֲדֵי יְהוָה — moʿadei YHWH aka “the appoint esttdd.......thisehd...........edeuentfel.otodieytwteufeaneed times of Yahweh.”, the Seven Feasts of Moses, prove beyond the slightest shadow of a doubt the mechanism for the Second Coming and the Restoration of the Kingdom to Israel and is the backup to the prophecies of the Restoration so noted in the book of Hosea, Zechariah, Joel and many other prophets.

Go ahead. Ask your supercessionist and preterist buddies to chime in on this post.
It should be entertaining to observe the slapstick antics and desperate flailing.
From where I am sitting, I see this whole thing, as a total misunderstanding of covenant .
.....and that God is a covenant God,and God has a covenant people, Israel.

He will not cast them down. He will not shove them off the table.
They are in a time of trouble right now. But they're fixin to get into a real time of intense trouble.

And the whole idea is to turn them back to God through the messiah, That they're looking for, and are blinded, that it is Jesus.

Gomer illustrates the covenant of God and israel.

what unbelievable deception.

Are you sure that the woman of Rev.12 becomes the harlot of Rev. 17?
There is much in Rev. 12 that makes me think she is the Hebrew early church.

Revelation 12:17 And the dragon was wroth with the woman, and went to make war with the remnant of her seed, which keep the commandments of God, and have the testimony of Jesus Christ.

That would make the chapter a review of the past rather than a prediction of things to come, as it takes us back to the beginning of the New Covenant.
For the main part I agree with Mathew Henry on this chapter.
Clothed with the Sun is like the reference to Jesus in Malachi 4:2 "the Sun of righteousness arise with healing in his wings".
Moon = reflected light of shadows and types, no longer needed when the new covenant "sun" rises, although Mathew Henry did not say that.
12 stars = 12 apostles Dan 12:3.
Dragon = Satan, but his seven heads and ten horns represent Rome, through which Satan operates, and under which Herod serves.
The stars that he casts down to earth represent the angels that serve Satan.

The story begins with some parallels to the time Herod was killing babies, and Mary, Joseph and Jesus are led to Egypt for refuge.
Vs. 7-12 give us an interesting heavenly perspective on the beginning of the Gospel as we read of Satan being cast out of heaven.
then we read of Satan's desperate persecution of the early church.
As this story continues into Ch.13 until Ch. 19 we will hear about the destruction of Jerusalem all over again, but with much more detail.

@Are you sure that the woman of Rev.12 becomes the harlot of Rev. 17?
There is much in Rev. 12 that makes me think she is the Hebrew early church.”

right israels believing remnant became the first church . Remember Jesus only oreached to isralites first told them don’t go to the gentiles . The church began in jerusalem and then afterward spread out to the world . The new covenant is Israel’s new covenant they came first . Do what your seeing is the beautiful woman clothed with the sun and moon and a crown of twelve stars ( israel who was expecting a sin to be born to rule with a rod of iron ( israel had been promised a messiah would be born and rule forever sonthey were expecting a child . Eventually she has the child and he’s caught up to god and his throne so consider this part

“So then after the Lord had spoken unto them, he was received up into heaven, and sat on the right hand of God.”
‭‭Mark‬ ‭16:19‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Now in revelation you see the other children of the woman( the early israelite church that began in Jerusalem ) going about sharing the testimony of Christ as they are being pursued and persecuted by the dragon this is showing us the apostles and witnesses sharing the testimony of Christ ….. but the woman herself for a short time is protected she then sort of disappears into the wilderness having already produced the son of man to rule and her offspring have already begun carrying the witness of Christ

later as your saying we see the destruction of jerusalem . In the Old Testament many times god tells this story of how he made Jerusalem beautiful and then they rebelled and worshipped other gods and commited abominations and became like a harlot or whore who pours out her fornications on everyone around ..

this really is hard to miss in the ot try reading Ezekiel 16 all the way through and then look at revelation 17 it’s really hard to miss but also Jeremiah other chapters in Ezekiel or zechariah isaih ect tell the same story of a beautiful woman who became a harlot and would be judged terribly and destroyed by her lovers .

So I’m not sure we disagree there israel had a remnant who believed and became the early Christian church you can actually see it happen there when the son is twine up and then the other seed of the woman ( other isralites ) began carrying the witness of Christ Jesus the gospel

I hope this clears it up

That was the whole plan in order to bring the Gospel to the Gentile nations (as the second born) like I described to you in a previous post about God/Jesus always using the 2nd born to do his work such as Ishmael & Isaac, Esau & Jacob, etc.. In the Jewish world, the first born ALWAYS received the blessings and inheritance from their fathers. In God/Jesus' world, not so much. He was changing up the order of things.

I was hoping to get your response from your original post on everything in "two" because I didn't understand what you were saying in the last few paragraphs of that post.
Yeah I was talking to someone else about old Testament people being born again. Since you chimes in do you have any input of any scripture that says anything regarding it ?

and yeah I was just saying there are two testaments that are thier own they have complete systems and words of the mediator

Revelation 21:3

True. The question I was trying to answer was to when and how. The problem is that the Bible speaks about Jesus literally being on both the earth ruling over the physical Jerusalem and then heaven comes down to meet the earth.

Revelation 21:1-2

21 And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea.

2 And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.

Jesus say some are the children of satan.
Could it be possible that's 2 groups, 1 is children of God, the other is children of satan?
