Thank you friend, that means a lot to me@Carlyw ,
God has blessed you with a lot of wisdom at a young age especially in today's world full of confusion.

Yes absolutely and I know there will come a day when his true church will walk in his power and authority a children specially grafted for a time of harvest a people who willwalk in spirit and truth and God the father will be glorified through themI believe the church has to get pass the crucifixion and live in the resurrection.
I've seen to many here and elsewhere who have a hard time dealing with sin especially there own.
That matter has been taken care of by Jesus the only one who could and has finished that chapter in our lives.
Not that we should for a minute down play or lesson its importance but to focus on what happens next.
This is when we've been given authority, the Holy spirit, the ability to turn the world up side down.
Understanding who we are in Christ . Why we are a strange people in a strange land called to do things even greater than Jesus.
It is God who enables so let us say "here i am send me" . Not i have issues so pass for now.
If you want your faith to grow exercise it. Take God at his word. That in its self is faith.
The human condition is afraid of failure.
Jesus often emphasized the importance of faith in the healing process, saying "Oh ye of little faith" and "Your faith has made you well"
People get in the way. Those were good times though. I got baptized with the Holy Spirit in early ‘94. There was a lot “flesh” going on during that time with the charismatic church, but a lot of good with it.I'm old enough to remember the start of the so-called Charismatic movement in Australia. Traditionally, the baptism and the gifts of the Spirit were the domain of Pentecostalism. I can understand why non Pentecostals were dubious. My experience led me to believe Pentecostals were weird.
About 3 years after I was saved and with more experiences, I realised that there was something to the Baptism of the Holy Spirit after all. What I had seen that bothered me was with people who had gone overboard. Many of the Pentecostals I met had become proud and contemptuous of those who had yet to experience the baptism of the Holy Spirit.
I could not argue with the obvious power that was lacking in traditional circles. I saw people being delivered from evil spirits. I saw miracles of healing. I had two healings in one day. The first was through a word of knowledge where the pastor described my symptoms to the letter. Then I prayed for a chronic condition that I'd suffered for years. I was full of faith because of the first healing.
It still took me 3 years to overcome my objections. Some tried to push me into it, well meaning but not at all helpful.
Christmas Eve 1974 was a significant time for many. Darwin was about to be smashed by a devastating cyclone and tornado. I did not know about it as I was on leave at the time. I remember it because that night I received the baptism of the Holy Spirit. I was alone, no one pushed me, just me and Jesus. He is the Baptiser.
Some proponents seem to forget that the Holy Spirit is NOT Lord. His job is to empower us to witness to Jesus and the great salvation that He bought for us. This is the purpose of every spiritual gift and all revelation.
Some say that the gifts of the Spirit are not for today. They base this on Paul's statement that tongues will end and prophecies will cease. (1 Corinthians 13) They claim that the "perfect" (verse 10) has come in the form of the final cannon of scripture.
Verse 12 says, "Now we see but a dim reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face." I do not see God face to face by simply studying the Bible. So how anyone can claim that the perfect has come is a mystery to me. Lord Jesus is the Truth. He is the complete revelation of God. One day, we will see Lord Jesus face to face. All our questions will be answered, all confusion dissolved and we will know all things.
If the church was in complete unity, established in love, living in righteousness and holiness, then the cessasionists might have a point. I wish. There will be no need for gifts of prophecy in heaven. We will not need words of knowledge or wisdom there. There will be no need for miracles, healing or deliverance. Until that time, we need the Baptism of the Holy Spirit and the gifts.
A word of caution. There is much that claims to be the Holy Spirit which is counterfeit. It is relatively easy to fake signs and wonders. Someone can speak out fine sounding words that are simply what they imagine in their minds. I've heard a demon speak, pretending to be a message in tongues. We need discernment. There is no need to fear. We do need to ask God to reveal the truth to us.
indeed, people still being people and not growing in Him to the extent all that is seen is Jesus.People get in the way. Those were good times though. I got baptized with the Holy Spirit in early ‘94. Yes, it's often a mixture. Satan hides in revivals. This was the case in the amazing Welsh revival in the very early 1900's and the Azusa Street revival about the same time.People get in the way. Those were good times though. I got baptized with the Holy Spirit in early ‘94. There was a lot “flesh” going on during that time with the charismatic church, but a lot of good with it.
Never thought I'd see the day where I agree with you this much Shittim, lolHow much "faith" did Lazarus display when he was raised from the dead?
He didn't, he couldn't, his body was no longer alive.
Nothing stops the power of God, He invites us to walk in it, not hold to an outward form denying it.

The excuse of "You just missed it, you should have been here yesterday" is getting rather old.
Presenting past events as evidence of supposedly ongoing events is absurd and willful blindness.
These baseless and silly claims are making a mockery of Christianity.

Your meme could be an atheist response to the claims of cessationists that miracles were for the first century and the time prior to it.![]()

If so, then He is no longer the same, yesterday, today and forever, that would mean He is a liar who can't take care of His own Scripture.Far be it from me to say what God will or won't do....
But the prophesied "age of the year of the Lord's favor" has ended.
Meaning the time of publicly and widely seen "miracles" has ended. There are NONE to be viewed on a stage for everyone to see.
Except for one.
Scriptures are still a widely and commonly viewed miracle that is under constant attack.
He is not capricious, what He does for one, He will do for another.Your meme could be an atheist response to the claims of cessationists that miracles were for the first century and the time prior to it.
If we accept the teachings of the scriptures, then God has empowered people to do miracles, many great miracles have been done, and the Spirit distributes the gift of the working of miracles as He wills. We should accept that much whether we see a miracle or not. Remember Thomas' attitude.
