Hi my 'name' is Seengal😍, I'm 39 live in Phoenix and have a job as assistant mgr at the JW Marriott Hotel. I live alone with family close by. My heart's desire at this point in my life is to meet the Christian man the Lord has for me. I go to a non-denom church and am in a sm group. I admire men who love the Lord and are fulfilling their calling. If there's a guy reading this who perhaps is on the same page and can relate, please pm me. It would be nice to chat and compare notes😍

(just a sample of a response fictitious, I'm just stirring the pot🙏😂)
Hi Seengal, I am Michael, I am 40 and living in Canada, and about to finish my Tourism Program. I go to a Baptist Church, I am looking to return to Martyr Shrine for a seasonal position and would be happy to send you a resume for a seasonal winter position.

Kudos to @faithlife for stirring the pot -- that was quite some paddle!

Hi Singles Forum,

I'm Seoul. I'm seeking friends, but if let God lead if anything else is meant to be.

I grew up in the Lutheran church and school, spent another part of my life at an Assemblies of God church, but am now back at a Lutheran church. I usually switch off attending two churches, one with the traditional services I grew up with, and one with a contemporary service.

I've been on CC since 2009 (hope that doesn't discourage anyone hoping to find someone in a short time,) but I've made some amazing friends during that time, and that's what keeps me going.

I admire integrity, hard work, and getting back up when life kicks us down or we make a wrong choice. I hope to get to know you through posts on the forum and messages, if you would like.

What qualities do you work on having and admire in others?
What are your hobbies?
What are the best ways God speaks to you?

(I'm not an artist by any means, but I know God speaks to me without words through color, art, architecture, and places like museums and aquariums.)

What about you? :)

It's awesome to meet you, Michael!

What are your favorite places you've traveled to? I love the theme parks in Florida and was able to visit a few of them when I briefly lived there.

What video games do you like to play? I don't play, but I enjoy watching people play and explaining the story and adventure.

Do you have a certain book of the Bible you go to when you need encouragement? I subscribe to Our Daily Bread devotionals -- they often have uplifting real life stories and Scriptures to go with them. I have several saved of them saved in a file.

(I hope other's will join in on Canadian's great thread with their own introductions and answers, comments, and questions about anything that's being talked about!) :)

Oh, those poor, unfortunate souls.

Truthfully, I've just made a lot of good friends here on CC, and if that's all that happens, I'm learning to be ok with it (I think.)

If anything, it's usually distance and family situations (obligations neither of us can move from) that gets in the way.

Surely it has NOTHING to do with my natural ornery-ness!!!:whistle::devilish:

But... Maybe be ask me again on Saturday, when I have my junk food splurge day.

Chicken strips, French fries, and a cupcake just might change my mind. 😁

Aww, I thought it was real 😂

Nice to see a thread aimed at helping singles connect.

A while ago, I had joined a singles bible study group at a church. It was very far from being a dating group, it was more of a group of misfits and disabled people who never found marriage. At first, for that group, I felt it was a bit sad seeing what types of people weren't able to find love, but I soon saw the light as they were all getting together to do bible studies and game nights with each other, as a simple way to still have fellowship and friendships. The group was something to be cherished.
Unfortunately, the group did come to an end, because the host was going to get busy with other things as the seasons were changing and no one else was going to be able to step up to become the new host.

I used to occasionally hear several ministries on the radio, those radio ministries identified that their singles ministries were not the same as a dating ministry, but there could still be dating which could occur because of them. Their main purpose though wasn’t dating, it was to reach out to anyone who lived a single life and to be supportive of their walk with God by providing fellowship in the forms of bible studies, inspirational speakers, devotionals, and they talked about christian-life themed book recommendations. The bible itself also had a lot of single people in it, so the radio stations had a pretty good amount of content and helpful christian topics they would share.
However, my radio broke and I never liked phone apps, so I haven’t been in-tune with most radio-based things for a very long time.

I know women’s ministries can have programs or groups for singles, but only for single women, not single men. However, I’m pretty sure men’s ministries are inclusive for single men. The singles are out there, but not in the dating ministries, just in their respective mens or womens ministries.

I like to see communities that help open ways for both single men and single women to interact (even if not to date, just connecting). I know there’s a lot of hobby based communities, but sometimes a single Christian wants to meet other single Christians, not just other hobbyists.

However, I'm not one who's too into small talk, so I might consider myself a small hobbyist. I say small because I don't have any hobbies I'm super into, but I do like talking about or sharing hobbies and interests as it's a way to be interactive and have a little fun. :)

Aww, I thought it was real 😂
I totally thought it was real, too.

I was like, "Dang!! Look at Faithlife stepping out and showing us all how it's done... She got it goin' on!!!"
Lol, nextime I'll put 'ficticious' in caps😂

One thing that's slowed things down connections is that people need to pay for PM'ing now.

Years ago it used to be free, now I believe it's $25 a year (but I haven't checked lately.)

People who started out here years ago were grandfathered in, and if they PM someone, that person can respond, but only to the one who wrote them.

If someone wants to send someone a message, you might also be able to use the message space on your profile page wall. Feel free to look at my profile to see an example of people leaving messages -- but keep in mind, they're all public.

Many people have their privacy settings on their profiles set up to where they don't have a message wall though, or don't have their profiles set for public viewing at all.

If you need help setting up your profile message wall, let us know. I'm not sure what the exact setting is (as I've always made my profile public and the wall available,) but I'm sure we can figure it out! (Lynx!!! Oh, Lynx!!) :)

One thing I can say about the paid message system -- it's cut down on almost all the hate messages I would sometimes get for some of my threads over the years!

I actually kind of miss it. Hate comments are always good springboards for new thread ideas, and sometimes even an entire series.

Aw, is this a match making thread? Okay…
I’m Kelly, a tantrum throwing, middle aged hag, looking for a fight.
Now why won’t anyone respond to my add???

Here in the Singles Forum, the only thing we like better than seeing a good match-up is seeing a good fight!!! 😁

Will somebody please kill two birds with one stone and give @Texasgal a holla?! 😎

Because I posted here, does it mean people are automatically going to assume I am looking for a husband?!
I just don't want people to get the wrong idea.

Maybe you can change the name to Single and Seeking or something like that.
haha I have no idea. It's ok just because people are single doesn't mean they are looking, That is why I didn't use single and seeking, otherwise people like you who are not looking would be excluded.

Hi Michael,

I have always wanted to see Canada -- maybe I'll make it there someday. :) What are a few highlights that you recommend seeing at these favorite places?

I'm sorry that I'm not familiar with many of the games you listed. Does anyone else out there play them as well? What games do others recommend?

Is Sim City the one where you build your own simulations? What are some of the best things you've built?

I'm not sure that I have a favorite book of the Bible, but there are certain people and stories that are my go-to's. One of my favorite people in the Bible is Jeremiah, because he was real about his great discouragements.

And one of my favorite Bible stories is when the Hebrew midwives saved their people's baby boys, despite the command to throw them into the river. I love the passage that says, "Because the midwives feared God, He gave them families of their own." (Exodus 1:21)

Who are some people you admire in the Bible, and why?
