I would prefer the same thing. I don't mean to sound depressing. But that's just how it is.

Marriage was instituted by God at the beginning of time, when the world was perfect, and it's something that's supposed to bless you. But then mankind sinned, and everything was distorted. That includes marriage. And even marriages between Christians, sadly.

People have the freedom to marry, but they also have the freedom to make bad and selfish decisions that hurt their partner. They can make solemn vows to be faithful, but they can also choose to go back on their word, as if those vows are suddenly meaningless.

It's not right. It's sad. And it should break your heart, if you're a genuine believer.
I completely agree with you on this.

I am not looking for perfect.

I am looking for empathy, maturity, safety, trust.
Not to chime in where I don't belong but going along with @Churchgoer - the person you are describing is Jesus.

I pray you do find healing, comfort and strength during your marriage and if you do divorce to find someone else that the Lord guides you to a man who will genuinely care for you and is completely committed to Jesus and our Faith.

Honestly, I don’t think it is funny. Empathy is God. God is Empathy. And, where is yours?
I do understand where the "humour" is coming from since like Churchgoer I am also an imperfect man but I agree a brother must be gentle with his sisters and that could have been put more gently.

Please forgive him and know that none of us consider your pain laughable. Big hugs and prayers 🙏 🫂

I completely agree with you on this.
A marriage is only as godly as the couple. If one is godly and the other's not, the depressing news is that, usually the husband can convert the wife, but the wife can't convert the husband.

Thank you brother.
Fyi I am a woman.

The reason I think it is funny is often we want the other person to be perfect.
Do we look at ourselves and examine ourselves?
What is Jesus teaching on marriage? Obey that will be the Holy way to go.

As I said before, marriage is about holiness, not about happiness.
Actually a Christian s life is about holiness, not happiness.
Holiness will bring joy, peace in God.

Even in a marriage, God still examine us individually.
We should just make sure ourself is Holy. Then try to help others.
If ourselves fall apart, then how to help others?

I am very sorry for not checking first sister, usually I'm pretty good at that.

I completely agree with the sentiment, trust me I have been on both sides of the wanting and wanted but as I am quick to say: I am just a man.

Couldn't agree more, happiness comes directly from a strong relationship with God and thus a prerequisite is holiness and developing our Faith through the power of the Holy Spirit to listen more attentively to the Lord and follow His guidance. His wisdom includes joy and happiness simply because He's such an awesome, loving God. Praise be to His name forever and ever, Amen.
