I always thought the book of James to be somewhat legalistic myself. Not for the reasons that Romanstophilemon states though. It's because Paul confronted both Peter and James for hypocrisy.

Grace when understood correctly, needs to be guarded in our thinking from legalistic thoughts always trying to muddy the waters of life within us.

So for me, Paul's revelation needs to be uppermost in mind when reading other scriptures. I get caught way too many times off guard.

Jewish Christians is an oxymoron. Neither Jew nor Gentile is in the body of Christ.

right

well, you tell that to God then cause He ain't buyin it

saying there is neither Jew or Gentile in Christ means we are one...no one is better than the other

you know, you are not handling the word under the guidance of the Holy Spirit, but under some man made concoction that you have fallen for and been seduced by

absolutely nothing will support that post...and you know that

this guy is tearing up the forums with this stuff and he is serious about it
This is the Whole point.
How does one come about a doctrine that is not biblical?

No one will listen who knows anything at all...
So, let's see him prove his point!
It would be interesting...

Exodus 32:33 (NASB)
[SUP]33 [/SUP]The LORD said to Moses, "Whoever has sinned against Me, I will blot him out of My book.

This quote is about the israelites who worshipped the golden calf they made when Moses went up
Mount Sinai. So this is not a good passage to quote meaning everyone.

But then this is a common problem for certain groups.

what part of ALL scripture shall we ignore then?

does not matter what you think is best...God knows better and He saw to it that James was included and not for post rapture survivors either

you think James is legalistic?

LOL!...stay away from the OT...God has not changed...He just made a way is all

mheh

he proves his point by saying anyone who disagrees with him is wrong

that is actually a very common default position with those who handle the word as if it was jello and they could flex it any way they feel more comfortable with

but you probably know that too

You're reply above is to LaurenTM.
Without even going back to check the verses, I know they must be James 3.
He's correct in what he's telling you. You should listen to him

Also, you say there's no such thing as a Jewish Christian because it's an oxymoron.

1. What do you think the FIRST Christians were? Why do you think they were persecuted?
2. Do you know that Jewish is a religion and is ALSO a nationality?

It's very easy to be a Jewish Christian.

The book of James isn't written to the body of Christ. It's written to tribulation saints who are formed after the rapture and God restarts Israels prophecy program.
Huh? Where is that in the book of James?

You can interpret it that way, but be honest enough to say it is your interpretation and not state something as a fact that the book does not state.

Ignore is your word Lauren, not mine. I said keep grace uppermost in mind when reading.

Study of the OT is great looking at the Hebrew language. Is rich with symbolic pictures of Jesus everywhere.

It's easy to walk away from some wives. LOL
Not so easy to walk away from Jesus.
Is it impossible?
I know persons to whom this has happened but then you'll say they were never saved to begin with.

Fran
This demonstrates normal practical life that matches Jesus's parables and the experiences
of the apostles. Only God sees the heart and why people go off the rails, and we have a few
examples here in this forum, who will decry all else are not of the faith because of one issue
they do not agree with, even though everything else is the same.

And for them this difference is really their faith, because when you expand it, all their theology
hangs on this point, which for me is like saying a human is alive if pulled inside out, because
all the parts are there, except they would be very dead.

since God calls those who are in faith the children of Abraham, it is not such a closed minded and simple conclusion

we are supposed to take the whole counsel of scripture but that requires more than joining a site and agreeing with it

so many want to build this edifice that is beautiful in their own eyes...but they do not include the foundation

reminds me of that parable about the wise man and the foolish man

The above is some of the strangest stuff I've ever read .

I usually don't ask because I know the bible and don't need references.
BUT, in this case, could you please post some scripture in support of the above so that maybe I could learn something new,
and maybe I can't...

Thanks.
Fran
I have a few threads I have made. You can search my profile and find them. I've posted lots of videos as well. I'll post one here too if your interested. It's a video that explains the apostle Paul and what his purpose is. What rightly dividing the word of truth is and what the revelation of the mystery is given to Paul. Rom 16.25, Eph 3.37, 1 Cor 2.6-8, Col 1.25-26, Gal 1.11-12, Eph 3.9-10. God says that if the mystery was revealed before Paul, Christ would not have been crucified. Since that is true, the body of Christ cannot be found before Paul.

Howbeit we speak wisdom among them that are perfect: yet not the wisdom of this world, nor of the princes of this world, that come to nought: But we speak the wisdom of God in a mystery, even the hidden wisdom, which God ordained before the world unto our glory: Which none of the princes of this world knew: for had they known it, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory.

It is stated on fact with the scriptures. Go to my thread on Hebrews-Revelation is not written to the Body of Christ.

why do people suppose that numerous false claims repeated often enough create truth?

it's astounding, really.........

I learned in school that if a=b and b=c then a=c. But this logic??!!
