All that the Father giveth me shall come to me; and him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out.
For I came down from heaven, not to do mine own will, but the will of him that sent me.

Jesus said He came from heaven.

No one has ever gone into heaven except the one who came from heaven--the Son of Man.

I am the living bread that came down from heaven.

Again jasonj you do not understand what the Holy Spirit is saying in Ephesians 2:8-9.

Ephesians 2:8 For by grace you have been saved

Its the Grace from God, the Grace OF God that has saved us. Its nothing we have done.

Its a Gift jasonj.

When was the last time you had to do some kind of work to receive a Gift from somebody? I do not know about you but every Gift i have received it was given to me by those who love me. There was nothing i had to do to receive it.

I think this is why you do not understand. You look at the Gift of Salvation and then you look at Gifts you have received from people around you and believe you have to do some work to deserve them.

Its not that way with God. God SO loved you that He gave His only Son to die for YOUR sins so He can give you as a Gift with no strings attached to it, the Gift of Salvation!

So why are you trying to work for this Gift? Its a free Gift with no strings attached to it! All you have to do is BELIEVE! This is all you have to do to receive Salvation.

What did the Thief on the cross do to receive Salvation? Was he Baptized? Did he remove himself from the cross and go do some works? NO!

All he did was believe that Jesus IS God! That is all he did!

So why do you feel you have to do works for your Salvation? Why is it so hard to accept the Gift and REJOICE that you have received Salvation!

(Jesus) He continued,"You are from below; I am from above.
You are of this world; I am not of this world.
I told you
that you would die in your sins; if you do not believe that
I am He, you will indeed die in your sins."

"Who are you?" they asked. "Just what I have been
telling you from the beginning," Jesus replied.

***

"Very truly I tell you," Jesus answered, "before Abraham was born, I am!"
At this, they picked up stones to stone him, but Jesus hid himself,
slipping away from the temple grounds.

At last the meaning of His words flashes upon them. They had heard this I AM before (John 8:24) without perceiving that in it He applied to Himself the name Jehovah. Now there is no room for doubt. His own Divinity is the only explanation of what He has said; and it is in these words so plainly asserted, that those who had constantly misunderstood can misunderstand no more. (Ellicott commentary on John 8:59)

Supposing that he had spoken blasphemy; for they well understood that he, by so saying, made himself to be the eternal God, the unchangeable Jehovah (Gill's exposition
on John 8:59)

The first time this was asked is Jesus God, i made reference to these scripture saying Jesus referred to Himself as I AM. I ended up resting at peace with Jesus approving peters confession that His is Gods son. i understand and in more than one comment regarding this question stated He is etrnall, equal with God, ect......

This has been asked repeatedly. i rest on matthew 16:16-17. because its the only place in scripture where Jesus approves the believers confession that He is Gods Son. and also God is who revealed it to peter. that to me carries most weight. it is the Father confirming this is my son, as He did at Jesus baptism, and transfiguration. in the gospel God has made clear this is my son, Jesus has made plain i am the son, the father is in me and i am in the father oneness with God. i will stand on matthew 16:16-17. Because it is clear to me, peters confession you are the Christ the son of God, Jesus says you are blessed for that confession, and God is who revealed it to you. that is Just where my heart will hold. I believe Gods testimony from Heaven at baptism, transfiguration. I believe peters confession, i believe Jesus approval of it, and i believe the Fathers revelation. that Jesus is Gods Son. that's Just where i end up, and Believe Gods voice from Heaven. understanding He is one with God, eternal and before all. He is the word of God that created all things john 1......but i will stick to He is Gods Son, because of what i have presented. but again all are free to believe all they will, Gods word is all true. God bless magenta

Thank you, Jason, yet it seems you reject what Jesus says even though you say His own words hold the most weight for you, for He said He came from heaven, and is not of this world, and that you will die in your sins if you do not believe He is Him (the great I AM). I actually never really noticed that one before, thinking JWs could be saved but right there by the very words of Jesus they cannot be if they deny His divinity.

(Jesus) He continued, “You are from below; I am from above. You are of this world; I am not of this world. I told you that you would die in your sins; if you do not believe that I am He, you will indeed die in your sins.”

"That is why I told you that you would die in your sins.
For unless you believe that I am He, you will die in your sins."

***

"Very truly I tell you," Jesus answered, "before Abraham was born, I am!"

***

And now Father, glorify Me in Your presence with the
glory I had with You before the world existed.

***

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word
was with God, and the Word was God.
The Word became flesh and dwelt among us...

So does this mean you think he is a Jehovahs Witness?

I can't emphasize this enough.

Continue reading past the four gospel accounts. The red letters in your bible don't take precedence over others verses in the bible. It is all God-breathed. If there is an apparent contradiction you don't just "go with the red", you see how they work in unison. Most contradictions people see in the words of Jesus and contrasting scripture is that they do not look at scripture through the finished work of Jesus Christ on the cross and His resurrection.

You are so enamored on what cults teach you are blinded from the truth. Any resemblance to cults, even if it is truth, you immediately shun it. Stop studying cults and start studying God's word. Its putting cracks in your foundation.

That seems like a sound, undeniable truth Ben ... all those non- Christian cults are leaven ... leaven spreads through the whole batch ...

If I could "like" this 100x times - I would.

The truth of this statement would stop a lot of cults and false teaching from being in our midst. I love how the Holy Spirit in you used this truth to highlight the importance of Christ and what He has done in His finished work for us.

Thank you Ben for "obeying" the Lord.... ( you lawless grace believer that you are...
 )

No. Nor does it mean I read every answer Jason gave to the question of whether or not he believes Jesus is God. But what I did read did not look like a yes at all. It looked more a lot of words disguising a no, which is why I have made the last number of posts with Scripture in this thread that I have, all aimed at showing the divinity of Jesus Christ, some of them in His own words.
