Friends are lovely, but I have one who challenges almost every decision that I make related to the young adult group that I lead. I'm not sure if he realizes that he does that, though. But it seems like most of the time that I say that we're going to do something a certain way, he has an objection or a way he thinks we should change it. I'm always open to hearing others' thoughts and ideas, but it's to the point now where I know that if I give any sort of instructions or direction to the group, he's going to have something to say, and I just don't feel like dealing with it most of the time. So now I'm just trying to patiently receive his feedback, speak to his concerns, and then ignore the rest if it's unhelpful...haha.

Another instance of this occurred about 10 minutes ago which is why it was on my mind. I guess this is good practice in avoiding the temptation to people-please, which is what I tend to want to do most of the time.

I'm pretty sure I'm going to try my hand at making oreo lasagna tonight, and it is going to be awesome.

Hey dudes, I know this isn't the prayer forum (I will get there, eventually) but could you please pray for a man named Jack and his father? I met Jack last month on the plane ride home from Adelaide. I shared my testimony with him and then laid hands on him and prayed for his father, Allan, who had many life threatening cases of melanoma. This morning, I had it heavily upon my heart to pray for his father again, for complete healing and for a great testimony of God's goodness to touch this families heart. If you guys could join me in prayer to see these people get completely wrecked by God's love and awesomeness, that would be great. Cheers, peers!

So, my English composition professor gave each of us advice on the essays that were written from last week's assignment. Was told that I'm a natural writer. Funny, since I tend to criticize every written work I do and not look over it a second time sometimes because of it. I could work at it and I plan to.

And... Popcorn!!!

Nomnomnom.

Have fun making/eating the diabeetus - Iiiiii mean the oreo lasagna. :D I'm just gonna sit here eating my (fairly healthy) Chipotle. ^.^

My appetite is fully back. I was really concerned because it's been a solid week that I had such a small appetite. I mean it wouldn't hurt for me to lose weight...but no. Not that way. That's a road no one should go down.

I will acquiesce to that if you agree to pay me in free doughnut coupons!
Sigh. I'm thinking it might be less trouble just to buy you a donut. You win.

THIS round. I'm taking all in the next!!

Don't feel so well...hate when that happens
I totally hear you, Artsie. I was scouting out the cough & cold remedies today (stupid sniffles) and the woman standing in the aisle next to me sounded like she was trying to bring up a 3-lb. hairball.

I think my ears were bleeding.

Hmm. lil_christian that's how I know I'm sick. When I'm congested, sneezing, sniffling, it could be allergies or it could be a cold. But if I suddenly lose my taste for chocolate... I'm definitely sick.

If you told us you'd lost your taste for chocolate or computers, we'd all be racing to get you to the emergency room, pronto.

I was just so stressed, kind of in a way just waiting for the bad news to come about my grandmother. Dealing with the fact I'd be dealing with yet another loss. I was just a nervous wreck. And then there was the calling hours and funeral...didn't know how those were going to go...

It's weird. Now it's over, my brain's decided it's time to stop going to into freak-out mode every 5 minutes.

I actually haven't felt much of anything today. Felt pretty, meh, whatever. I think I should be concerned? I dunno.

That's awesome. My english teacher told me I was a natural writer too, but I didn't care because I wanted to be a pilot.

Funny, I wonder if people who create are naturally critical of themselves? I write and paint (sorta) and I'm critical of my work as well. It's a gift and a flaw, just gotta find the right balance. :)

Everyone is critical of themselves, but it seems creative people seem to be more so.

I never thought those "autocorrect fail" things were true, but one happened to me today with my new phone. A co-worker was to take the person that he supports to a bingo hall different than the one he usually attends. He was asking me about the place.

I meant to say "the oldsters there are kind of cranky, but they are mostly harmless." Autocorrect didn't like the word "oldsters" and I ended up telling my coworker that the "molesters are kind of cranky, but mostly harmless." egad!!
