Thank you everyone for your thoughts about this young man. I have expressed to him that I want to get to know him as a friend first. I told him I was still emotionally damaged from the last one. He said he is a patient man and that we should both pray for God's will. We are "hanging out" together but we haven't labelled it as dating. We're just being friends. I want to be careful because at first everything looks good, I get my hopes up and then their true colors start showing and I go through a spiral of emotions. There are things I don't like about him anyways. I'm attracted to him...he's tall and medium build. He has short hair. The last one had long hair. But I don't know...he talks A LOT about himself. It can be kinda draining. LOL
So thanks ya'll I appreciate it!

I wanna point out though that I'm not a cereal dater. :p Although, that does sound delicious! I've only had three boyfriends.
1st - I was 17 and it was completely online I have never met him...he lives in Rhode Island...we're still friends.
2nd - We went on 3 dates I was 19...that was 8 years ago
3rd - We only went on ONE date...it was long distance. I was 27 years old. I haven't talked to him in 5 months.

I just wanted to point that out in case anyone here thinks I am from one guy to the next. I'm not. Sure I have crushes...but they usually don't pursue me and I need the guy to pursue. :p
It sounds to me like you have set things up right with this dude and he is willing to be patient with you. Don't worry about it. Just enjoy the journey.

About him talking too much about himself, that is something he can learn to improve in. Perhaps if you mention it to him he will appreciate your bringing it to his attention. Perhaps you can help lead him into other areas of conversation. Perhaps he doesn't know what else you want to talk about.

Give him the benefit of the doubt in this and help him learn to talk about other things.

I can't believe we are out of basil.
I can't believe I started a big pot of chili without checking to see if we had basil.
I can't believe I have to go all the way to the store to get basil.
I can't believe I have to get dressed to go toFIRST WORLD PROBLEMS!

Yeah, yeah, I know. Life is good.

But I can't believe we're out of basil. Feh.

Well lookie here, right here in my cupboard, in the middle of my spice rack.

What's that, I see?

Not ONE, but two--count 'em, TWO--huge, honkin' bottles of basil.

Two heavenly jars simply RUNNING OVER with basil.

Like, lots and lots of basil.

Basil coming out of my ears.

In fact, I just DON'T KNOW what to do with AAAALLLLLL this delectably fragrant, chili-enhancing basil.

And don't go lecturing me about fresh vs. dried, because we don't want to lose sight of THE most important issue here.

Some of us have basil.

And some do not. :)

I was just thinking of basil yesterday, quite randomly and
out of the blue... you know it is part of the mint family?
It is most delicious on tomatoes :D

Others in the same family are rosemary, sage, savory, lemon balm,
thyme, marjoram, oregano, hyssop, thyme, lavender, and perilla :)

Here is a pic of Lamium Purpureum:

Who knew it was so beautiful?

That's it. You're getting signed up for the $20 phone plan. No internet, limited text.

Actually instead of going to the store I took the chili in a very un-chili direction... with dill weed. So far it smells pretty good. Different from normal, but delicious.

Magenta: That sounds like a pretty nice family. Lots of delicious, er, lots of wonderful aunts and uncles and cousins in that family, yup.

I said thyme twice  I love Basil :D

It may not have been so random since I regularly eat a lovely pizza
with bail and fresh tomatoes on it, along with mozza and bocconcini :)

The basil gets stuck in my teeth and then I get to
chew the little bits to bits when dinner is finished :D

And they are particularly tasty :D

I may need to add hyssop to my diet

hyssop.jpg

Since it is good for asthmatics :p

And it is purple :D

I'm 97% certain that my hearing is going to be the first thing that goes when I get older. I use music to blast out my thoughts. Future 70-year-old me will not appreciate present me right now.

After school my friend came over and we watched Goosebumps while eating fruit roll ups. Yes I am actually a time traveler. It was the haunted mask episode.

Weeeeee! I hauled 13 kids to church on the church bus tonight. That's more than we've had in years on the bus.

I took 13 kids home. I took home exactly as many as I picked up. Under the circumstances I consider that a minor achievement.
