Pull out her chair for her when she sits down. Open doors for her. Don't compare her to other girls, ESPECIALLY an ex. THAT is usually the kiss of death for the relationship!! LOL. :)

Good advice!!! I believe one of many reasons why relationships fail so badly is the failure of parents to teach their children the proper etiquettes necessary for a successful date or relationship. I am from the 'old school' and I saw how it was done, and understand why those marriages lasted 40, 50 years to death.

In the majority of today's relationships, those necessary etiquettes are non-existent. I have seen some incredible blunders in public in regards to dating/relationships. IMHO, I would say 35% are getting it right.

I am from the so called 'Generation Y', and I still follow those rules. I open doors for even my girl friends. I think etiquette is the different between a gentleman and a guy -

1) Always walk on the side of the road.

2) Never offer a handshake to a woman. If she initiates, then you follow.

3) Open a door for a woman.

4) When the waiter comes to take your order, let her order first.

5) Offer to pay the bill, at least for the first date.

6) If you guys are walking down, offer your coat/jacket if she has none.

7) Hold the door open for her when she gets out/into the car.

8) Always walk behind her - not far that you lose her and not close that she can feel you breathing down her neck.

These are some of the ones I could think of. :)

If she tries on a pair of jeans and asks you, "do these make my butt look fat," ALWAYS say "no honey, you look great in those"! :) If you say yes, she will say "so you think I'm fat huh"?
How about a rule that says, "Don't ask the man you're dating the 'Does this make me look fat?' question" ?

Don't pick apart your sushi rolls and play with it, it communicates that you're bored and just rude.
But if that's actually how we eat, because we can't stand to have food of one kind touch food of another kind? *stares at Gypsygirl*

*runs away, laughing*

Women should dress appropriately as well. Classy. Or jeans and boots.

No inappropriate groping....
For the longest time, this was virtually non-existent with women. But today, it is becoming somewhat common for women to grope. I think men are still the worst but women have come a long way to a distance second place. I was going to give an example but forgot for a moment I was on a Christian board.:)

I second that rule!

Don't try to hold her hand on the first date. You're just getting to know each other, so keep your hands to yourself.

I guess one of the experiences I had by being in a relationship was, 'don't mess with the radio.'

Well...I ain't following that one because there should be an 'you play a song, I play a song' rule. lol

----
Also. If the restaurant is closed, coffee is alright.

P.s. If they won't work out with you, don't marry them. lol.

Well, unless you bring your own, of course....

cool hand.jpg

see, this is actually a pretty cool thing - if you look close, the hand is real! It's this thing you slip over your wrist and tuck in your sleeve see, and then you flop your hand around and it looks like a severed hand still squirming around...........see.

It really gets a date's attention!

right at first.

The part about mentioning my ex is not a problem - I have no ex to bring up. =^.^=

"If we are dating, we are on the path to becoming one. What's yours is mine, therefore, your food is my food.

Now hand over some of those fries and half your sammich.

Please."

(Gotta keep it ladylike.)
My dirty house is your dirty house. We share alike. So you can have my fries and the sandwich crumbs that dropped onto the floor.. How nice that the house is now clean. This was such a win, win situation for the both of us. ;)

Men do not wear corduroy trousers and take note of all the things they tell you and I mean take a note of everything as in write it down.

A few years back I started getting serious with a very nice young lady off the internet, met in a Christian chat room, she lived hour odd drive away from me, got on super, moved from webcam to speaking hours on the phone, we even sat and watched a film together, knowing we were opposite end of phone.

A few weeks of this she said she would come to meet me, we met up, took her for a little walk and stopped off at pub for lunch. I noticed she kept huffing and puffing and making faces, I ask her what the problem is she refused to say, then said thanks for the lunch and that she would call me later, that was the last I heard of her.

2 weeks later she replies to my email, she said that she was outragued and disgusted that I wore corduroy trousers when she met me as she has a loathing for them and can not stand them, she said I obviously did not care or take it seriously and things were over with me, I did not even get to kiss her once or even hold her hand :(

The only problem is... when one say, "No inappropriate groping..."

My mind starts to wonder what exactly APPROPRIATE groping might be.

My mind is a scary place to be.
