Oh, good gravy! How many of you are there on CC? I don't see in the Internet and computers/phones/laptops being authorized in the Bible and you're making use of any number of them. How could you? Bazinga!
I think you missed the bit about the worship being Spirit filled. Or maybe you just care about the stuff that doesn't matter.
I agree with you, brother. People are putting everything under a microscope, leaving out the big picture. The big picture is that we love, worship and praise God. We can do it however we want. Have you seen how some of the indigenous tribes in Africa worship Christ? Have you seen how some of the ex-temple priests in India worship Christ? No matter how they worship and in which language they worship, they are still worshipping Christ. This is what matters!
Furthermore, it is ironical how some people selectively criticize today's practices, while ignoring the rest. Here are some of the often-ignored practices -
1) Jesus rode on a colt. Don't we all ride bicycles, motorcycles, cars, trains, ships and aeroplanes? Are we in breach of the Word of God for travelling on the latest modes of transport?
2) Jesus did not speak in English. The original scripts were not in English. But today we have so many versions of the Bible in English (KJV being only ONE of them). Furthermore, we have translated the Bible into hundreds of languages so that everybody can own a Bible. Does owning an English Bible make mine any less powerful than the original manuscripts? Or, does praying in English make my prayer any less powerful than praying in Aramaic?
The ones who keep nit-picking and criticizing everything and everyone are no different from the Pharisees and lawyers in Jesus' days. They are more interested in adding to people's burden and making their lives more miserable with rules upon rules, while they do nothing to alleviate their burden.
In my opinion, Christ was/is/will be the best salesman ever. His selling message is simple "No matter who you are, I have a solution for you." He does not expect everyone to be a conformist. He wants us to follow Him of our own accord while retaining our identity. That is the difference between the rest of creation and us. If Jesus Himself simplified the law into two points, who are you and I to add more to it?
