Got some scripture for that? I read something entirely different here...

Mat 19:17 And he said unto him, Why callest thou me good? there is none good but one, that is, God: but if thou wilt enter into life, keep the commandments.
JESUS was 100% man and 100% GOD.The rich young ruler approached the 100% man of JESUS,so then JESUS pointed him back to law.
and when that rich young ruler realizes that he delights in the law of GOD after the inward man(talking about his brain/mind)but he sees another law warring against the law of his mind and bringing him into captivity to the law of sin which is in his flesh he will then realize that he needs help and call on GOD and receive grace through faith.

Apparently something you have never experienced...

1Jn 2:1 My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous:
1Jn 2:2 And he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world.

Heb 4:15 For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin.
Heb 4:16 Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.

And I do this every day, just as Christ instructed...

Mat 6:9 After this manner therefore pray ye: ...
Mat 6:12 And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.
So then are you saying that you are keeping law and accepting grace?

Since no man can keep the Law perfectly, don't even try? Hmmm, seems like an odd way to approach it.

This "no man can keep the Law" refrain sort of flies in the face of this...

Php 4:13 I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.
Which one are you doing?
law or grace?

So then are you saying that you are keeping law and accepting grace?
Personally, I accept grace and mercy for my salvation and acceptance before God, and I try to follow the Law to know how to life worthy of that calling.

If we saved by grace, what are we kept by as Christians?

Did he only "give" 2, or did he re-emphasize the 2 that all of the others make up?
you could say that all the law was summed up in one word(love)
But remember the ten that were the administration of death you had no help and GOD did not desire sacrifices of sheep and bulls.
But in the new testament all those that believed in the WORD of GOD received grace.

In my experience, most who go to church believe-in effect, they are saved by grace at the point of conversion, then kept by observing the law
This statement promotes the doctrine that we are saved both by works and by grace. But the Apostle Paul even poked a hole in that line of thinking in Romans 11:6:

And if by grace, then is it no more of works: otherwise grace is no more grace. But if it be of works, then is it no more grace: otherwise work is no more work.

Here he's saying that it has to be 100% by Grace or 100% by works, because grace and works are opposites. to make it both by grace and works is a contradiction in itself. We are saved by grace and we are kept by grace not works of the law.

So so if the law is summed up in 1 word; love, HOW do we love? Think about writing a summary of a book. The summary cannot stand on its own. It is summarizing something that is in existence.

And the whole Law had a provision for help and forgiveness in the sacrifices and offerings. And if you don't believe God was pleased with them, ask yourself why He gave them and why he took such pleasure in them in Leviticus 1-5. The reason He became displeased with the sacrifices is because people began doing them with the wrong heart.

I agree with you, but I believe the reality is as I previously wrote among the majority who go to church

If michael is talking about being kept for salvation, then it is by grace and nothing else, especially obedience to the Law.

What the majority of us "Law-keepers" are saying is that once you have been given that gracious salvation, the Law shows you how to live, and the Holy Spirit guides you in that.

For some reason, a lot of people have a hard time disassociating Law from Salvation.

My apologies to those who have read this previously.

A few years ago my mother-who I dearly loved was dying of cancer. My wife and I went to look after her in her home during her illness. I was closer to the biblical ideal during that time than I have ever been. I put aside my own wants and desires and just wanted to please my mother. I did not covet was hers, I honoured her, I did not want to steal from her, bear false witness against her or murder her etc.
Did I have to at any time while looking after my mother consider, or even fleetingly think of any of the Ten Commandments to treat her that way? No! I never gave them a thought. Why did I act that way towards my mother? Because I loved her dearly

But the thing was, you still did/didn't do them. I don't intently analyze the Law every day to know what to do. I keep the Law because it's what God has lead me to do. I have learned over the years what that looks like. Just as you learned over the years what it meant to not covet or to honor others, you did them to your mother without thinking about them. But yet you still did them.

It is the exact same thing in my relationship with God and the Law.

The great tragedy is, hardly any ministers preach on the two core foundational principals on which the new covenant hinges

I wil write my laws on their minds and place it on their hearts
Then he adds
Their sins and lawless deeds I will remember no more

Strangely, if you ask Christians what the core foundation of the new covenant is, they will say Christ died for your sins, and yet, most in reality live under the first mentioned, not the second

Exactly. He places them on your mind and heart to do them. And when you break them, He remembers them no more. And so you do it again. It has no bearing on salvation.
