Again it is you who is twisting. I never said not to keep the Sabbath. I said keep it correctly. The Sabbath isn't simply a day. It is a rest. The day is shadow of the rest one should have in Christ. God didn’t give a rest because He was tired. He rested because He was done with the work of creation. In like manner, Jesus sat down at the right hand of the Father signifying that He was done with the work of the re-creation or the new creation. We rest in His finished work for our redemption.
The reason I said you have no rest is because you are still striving to get everything exactly correct...as if anyone could. You push the commandments at yourself and anyone who will listen. Holiness isn't achieved through human endeavor. Try as you may, you will not become holy or keep the commandments through your personal striving. But you continue to try...NO REST.
Those whose hope is in the Lord endeavor to seek His kingdom and righteousness, walk trusting the Spirit to guide our obedience, and delight ourselves in God...REST. We aren’t trying to ggain God's approval continuously. We already have it in Christ.
I am going to have to go by what God said, He is our Creator, He is our Savior
He spoke these Words and wrote them with His own finger- there is no greater authority than He.
Exo 20:8 “Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy. 9 Six days you shall labor and do all your work, 10
but the seventh day is the Sabbath of the Lord your God.
In it you shall do no work: you, nor your son, nor your daughter, nor your male servant, nor your female servant, nor your cattle, nor your stranger who
is within your gates. 11 For
in six days the Lord made the heavens and the earth, the sea, and all that
is in them, and rested the seventh day. Therefore the Lord blessed the Sabbath day and hallowed it.
The seventh day is the Sabbath. We rae to rest from work and labors, to keep the Sabbath day holy.
You seem to be confusing the rest we receive in Christ with the Sabbath rest. They are not the same rest.
The Sabbath rest is always on the seventh day. Exo 20:10 We rest from physical works and labors and keep the Sabbath day holy.
We enter Christ rest when we
also crease from our works, as God did from His, on the seventh day
Heb 4: 10
For he who has entered His rest has himself
also (this means in addition)
ceased from his works as God did from His.
When did God cease from His works that we also must cease from ours if we have entered into His rest?
This passage tells us plainly
Hebrews 4: 4 For He has spoken in a certain place (Mt Sinai)
of the seventh day in this way: “And
God rested on the seventh day from all His works”;
Its can't be any plainer than this. Thats what I love about God's Word, it will always explain Itself if we allow it to.
Because in God's rest there is no rebellion to Him or His commandments, there is only peace
Isa 48:18
Oh, that you had heeded My commandments!
Then your peace would have been like a river,
And your righteousness like the waves of the sea.
